No Nay Never Colt Storms Home To Debut Success
Grand Scoop (2c No Nay Never - Frisella, by Frankel) flew home to make a winning debut in Tuesday’s conditions race for colts and geldings at Deauville.
The Gianluca Bietolini-trained newcomer was drawn wide in a field of 13 and had just one rival behind him as they approached the turn for home. Quickening into sixth with a furlong left to race, he ran on strongly to lead close home and led by a head on the line.
Rosario Mangione steered the Haras De Hus homebred to success. The No Nay Never colt was bought in utero for 320,000gns, with his dam resold in foal to St Mark’s Basilica for €650,000 last year.
