No Nay Never Fillies Make All To Maiden Successes
You’resobeautiful (3f No Nay Never - Hula Angel, by Woodman) may now seek black-type after making all to win Wednesday’s five furlong maiden at Navan.
The Fozzy Stack-trained chesnut was sent off favourite following her close second on debut in March and was reunited with Chris Hayes on Wednesday. Gaining a narrow advantage of her 17 rivals by halfway, she was ridden approaching the final furlong and kept on well to win by three parts of a length on the line.
The winning trainer later commented, “You’resobeautiful did it well, making her own way up the rail wouldn't have been ideal. There's a fillies Listed race at Naas in a couple of weeks which she might go for.”
Owned by Mrs Paul Shanahan and Mrs John Magnier, You’resobeautiful was bred by Lynch Bages out of Irish 1,000 guineas heroine Hula Angel.
Later that day at Gulfstream Park, the Wesley Ward-trained Amanzi Yimpilo (2f No Nay Never - Honourably, by Galileo) also made use of front-running tactics to make a winning debut over the minimum distance.
The $300,000 yearling purchase was sent off a short-priced favourite and was ridden to lead in the first furlong by Mario Pino. Quickening turning for home, she ran on well in the straight and won by two and a half lengths.
Owned by Susan Moulton, Marc Detampel and CJ Thoroughbreds, Amanzi Yimpilo was bred by Longueville Bloodstock and Matrix Bloodstock. She and You’resobeautiful continued a fine start to the week for No Nay Never, following Love Locket’s Group 3 win at Leopardstown the previous day.
