No Nay Never Filly Back To Best In Listed Sprint
Saturday saw Nymphadora (4f No Nay Never – Bewitchment, by Pivotal) record her second Stakes success at York in the Listed John Smith’s City Walls Stakes.
The Andrew Balding-trained bay lost her maiden tag in the Listed Marygate Stakes (pictured) over course and distance as a two-year-old, and made up for a brief three-year-old campaign when winning a Class 2 sprinter at Chester earlier this season. Reunited with Jason Watson at the weekend, she broke well to dispute in the early stages and asserted approaching the final furlong. Soon ridden, she kept on well to win by a length and three quarters.
Another step up in class may now be on the cards for Nymphadora, who holds an entry in the Group 2 King George Stakes at Goodwood, as well as in the Group 1 Coolmore Wootton Bassett Nunthorpe Stakes. Owned by St Albans Bloodstock, she is the most accomplished produce to date of the mare Bewitchment.
