No Nay Never Filly Completes Ballydoyle Four-Timer
Love Locket (3f No Nay Never - Starlet, by Sea The Stars) completed a terrific four-timer for the Ballydoyle team when making a successful step up in class in the Group 3 Leopardstown Fillies Trial Stakes on Tuesday.
The October maiden winner disputed the lead until gaining the advantage entering the straight and was ridden to extend her advantage approaching the final furlong. Racing on well under pressure, she won by a length and a half, with just a head back to stablemate Precious Moments (Gleneagles) in third.
Bred by Springbank Way Stud, Love Locket was a €700,000 yearling purchase by MV Magnier at Goffs. The daughter of No Nay Never becomes the second Stakes winner out of her dam Starlet and comes from the family of High Chaparral.
It marked a double on the card for Seamie Heffernan, who guided Evie Stockwell’s homebred filly Ennistymon (Galileo) to success in the opener, a competitive maiden. Wayne Lordan and Tiger Moth (Galileo) next led home a 1-2-3-4 in the colts’ equivalent, while Cormorant and Padraig Beggy led home a 1-2-3 for Ballydoyle in the Group 3 Derby Trial.
