Sara Valentina (No Nay Never) Wins Her Maiden At Limerick

No Nay Never Filly Draws Clear To Maiden Victory

Sara Valentina (3f No Nay Never – Carla Bianca, by Dansili) proved a class above her rivals when making a smart seasonal return in at Limerick on Thursday afternoon.

Once-raced as a juvenile, the Dermot Weld-trained grey was sent off favourite as she dropped down to six and a half furlongs in Thursday’s maiden. Travelling strongly throughout under Chris Hayes, she made good headway from two furlongs out was ridden to lead a furlong later. Quickening clear, she was pushed out to win by four lengths.

“Sara Valentina is a filly we hope can progress through the year,” assistant trainer Kris Weld said after the race. “We think she will like better ground. We will try to find a conditions event in the next few weeks.”

The daughter of No Nay Never is owned by breeder Moyglare Stud Farm.
