No Nay Never Filly Makes All To Smart Maiden Win
The promising Amangani (2f No Nay Never – La Naturel, by Silver Frost) made all to win Tuesday’s seven furlong fillies’ maiden at Punchestown.
The Joseph O’Brien-trained filly didn’t get a clear run when finishing third on debut earlier this month and was sent off second-favourite to make it second time lucky. Partnered by Dylan Browne McMonagle, the daughter of No Nay Never faced challenges after the three furlong marker, from which she was ridden clear.
She overcame signs of inexperience a furlong out to lead by two lengths on the line. Joyful Princess (Starspangledbanner) finished second, while Beyond Dreams (Wootton Bassett) made a promising debut in third.
“Amangani had a really nice run the first day and I thought she would come on a lot,” said stable representative Sean Corby. “She jumped great, travelled well, was still a bit green, but she was always holding them and did it well.”
The daughter of No Nay Never is owned by Philip Antonacci and was bred by Moni Market Breeders.
