Tango Becomes The Latest Winner By No Nay Never

No Nay Never Filly Prances To Maiden Success

The Aidan O’Brien-trained Tango (2f No Nay Never- Idle Chatter, by Galileo) went one better on her second start, as she justified favoritism in Saturday’s Fillies Maiden at Navan.

Denied just a head on debut in a competitive Curragh maiden, she was reunited with Donnacha O’Brien at Navan and tracked the leader for much of the way. Travelling well to lead approaching the final furlong, she was pushed clear to score by a comfortable two and a half lengths. A €90,000 yearling buy But You Said (No Nay Never) stayed on to complete a 1-2 for their sire.

Speaking after the race, the winning jockey said, “It was very smooth. I travelled well, quickened up well and put it to bed easy. I'm sure she's smart, definitely a black-type class filly. I'd imagine she'll go to Royal Ascot for something, the Albany or Queen Mary or something like that, but I'll leave that to Dad.”

Tango herself was bought for 200,000gns as a yearling and was bred by Fastnet Stud out of a winning half-sister to multiple Stakes winner and Group 1 placed Vol De Nuit.
