No Nay Never Filly Proves A Class Above
The promising Kitai (2f No Nay Never - Belle Isle, by Pastoral Pursuits) outclassed her rivals in Thursday’s six furlong maiden at Pontefract.
The Charlie and Mark Johnston-trained filly was sent off favourite following narrow defeats on both of her previous starts. She made all for the first time on Thursday and was shaken up to draw clear approaching the final furlong. Richard Kingscote needed to offer little encouragement as the pair crossed the line six and a half lengths clear of their rivals.
Owned by MC Sweeney and partners, Kitai was sourced by her trainers as a yearling for €150,000. The daughter of No Nay Never was bred by Lynch Bages Ltd and Rhinestone Bloodstock and provides an important update for her two-year-old full-brother selling at Tattersalls Book 2.
