No Nay Never Filly Strikes Late For Group 3 Glory
Saturday saw Zain Claudette (2f No Nay Never - Claudette, by Speightstown) build on an impressive maiden win to land the Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot.
Held up in midfield by Ray Dawson, the Ismail Mohammed-trained chesnut was switched left to challenge approaching the final furlong. Running on well under pressure, she kept on strongly to lead on the line from Group 2 second Desert Dreamer.
“She's a lovely filly,” the winning trainer later commented. “She keeps improving with every run and has been consistent this year. She's a Group 3 winner so we're planning for some big races with her now.”
Owned by Saeed H Al Tayer, the daughter of No Nay Never was bred by Andriy Milovanov.
