No Nay Never Filly Wins On Return
The Karl Burke-trained West Way Never (2f No Nay Never - Western Mystic, by Doyen) built on a promising debut to win Monday’s five furlong Novice Stakes at Hamilton.
Fourth on debut in July, the Ecurie Normandie-owned filly was reunited with Ben Curtis on return and chased the leaders in the early stages. Pushed to quicken from two furlongs out, she led approaching the final furlong and ran on to hold off Amazing Anna by half a length on the line.
A half-sister to dual sprint winner Mystic Monarch (Holy Roman Emperor), West Way Never was bred by Randolph Peters out of Stakes performer Western Mystic.
