Al Qudra (2c No Nay Never – Piece Of Paradise, by Holy Roman Emperor) built on two promising starts to run out a commanding winner at Lingfield on Tuesday evening.
Charlie Appleby’s charge finished a close fourth and third on his first two starts at Newmarket and was sent off favourite when stepping up to six furlongs at Lingfield. Racing prominently under William Buick, he was ridden to lead approaching the final furlong and kept on to score by two and a half lengths.
Al Qudra was sold by breeder Rockfield Farm as a foal for €330,000 and resold to Godolphin as a yearling for 425,000gns. The son of No Nay Never is the first foal out of Listed winner Piece Of Paradise (Holy Roman Emperor).
