Now 3 winners for Mastercraftsman
First-season sire Mastercraftsman’s dream start continued in Rome on Sunday when Pablosky (2c Mastercraftsman-Save The Table, by Tale Of The Cat) become the stallion’s third winning debutant from only four representatives.
And Pablosky, who was bred in Ireland by Tony O’Dwyer, could hardly have made a more exciting debut as he cruised home to land the five-furlong maiden by six lengths.
Franco Raimondi, writing in EBN, noted: “Pablosky couldn’t have been more impressive on his debut and became the third winner in three different countries for first season sire Mastercraftsman. The grey recovered from a slow start to score by six lengths from Lux Fulgenti. He was clocked in a time around a second faster than the fillies in their equivalent race.”
Pablosky, a £20,000 graduate of Doncaster’s Premier Sale, follows Mastercraftsman’s son Double Look (2c Mastercraftsman-Paper Profits, by Kendor), who scored on his debut in France on Thursday, and Master Carpenter (2c Mastercraftsman-Fringe, by In The Wings), a winning debutant at Leicester in Britain last month.
Meanwhile, there are a whole host of exciting Mastercraftsmans waiting in the wings in all of the top yards, with Richard Hannon particularly excited by the juveniles he has.
“I really like the Mastercraftsmans and they will come into their own over six and seven furlongs,” Hannon told EBN, while picking out six of the sire’s representatives to look out for. One for the notebook could be Expert (2c Mastercraftsman-Raphimix, by Linamix), of whom Hannon says: “This is a highly promising colt and could be very decent indeed.”
