Pride Of Dubai Colt Gains Deserved Maiden Success
Dubai Honour (2c Pride Of Dubai - Mondelice, by Montjeu) gained just reward for a narrow defeat last time out when scoring over a mile at Haydock on Saturday.
Beaten a nose at Chester earlier in the month, the William Haggas was sent off favourite under Danny Tudhope and tracked the leaders for much of the way. Shaken up to lead approaching the final furlong, he kept on strongly to win by two and a half lengths from Oman (Australia), with Military Mission (Mastercraftsman) staying on well for third.
Tudhope was pleased by his mount’s performance and later commented, “He's improving all the time and is a nice horse for the future.”
A 110,000gns yearling purchase, Dubai Honour is owned by Mohamed Obaida and was bred by Macha Bloodstock and Meridian International. He continues a recent run of juvenile winners by Pride Of Dubai, who was crowned champion first season sire in Australia.
