Pride Of Dubai Colt Races Clear To Stakes Success
Ryan Moore appeared impressed by Fancy Man (2c Pride Of Dubai - Fancy, by Galileo) after partnering the progressive colt to success in the Listed Ascendant Stakes at Haydock.
Successful on debut in July, the Richard Hannon-trained bay went on to finish a close second in Listed Stonehenge Stakes, in which the first two finished clear of the field. He remained over a mile on his latest start, with Moore positioning his mount behind the leaders, pushing him along to make headway from three furlongs out. Leading approaching the final furlong, he went clear to win by three and a quarter lengths.
Speaking after the race, Moore said, “Fancy Man is a proper horse and I like him an awful lot. He's a big, strong horse out of a Galileo mare.”
Owned by Michael Pescod and bred by Longfield Stud, Fancy Man hails from the first European crop of Pride Of Dubai. His Northern hemisphere crop also includes Group 3 Sweet Solera Stakes heroine Star Of Emaraaty, while he was crowned champion first season sire in Australia courtesy of a talented crop that produced two Stakes winners.
