Progressive Churchill Filly Records Back-To-Back Wins

Pandora’s Gift (3f Churchill – Amthaal, by Exceed And Excel) shaped like a smart prospect when defying a penalty in the fillies’ novice stakes at Southwell on Friday.

The Stuart Williams-trained bay finished a promising second on debut last month and improved to win her second start by a comfortable four lengths. She was well-supported to follow up on Friday and raced prominently throughout the six furlong contest under Rossa Ryan. Ridden to assert at the two furlong marker, she kept on well to beat the favourite by half a length, with the pair drawing three and a half lengths clear of the third.

“Pandora’s Gift is a filly we've always liked,” the winning trainer later revealed. “She was going really nicely early on then had a little setback in the spring. It just took us a while to get her to the track, but she's always shown plenty at home.”

Bred by Rossenarra Bloodstock, the progressive daughter of Churchill is owned by James Parry and partners.
