Progressive Son Of Churchill Gets Off The Mark
Daysofourlives (2g Churchill - Komedy, by Kodiac) built on a promising run last time out to take Wednesday’s seven furlong Novice Stakes at Kempton.
A close third in a maiden on his second start, the Marco Botti-trained bay broke sharper at Kempton and raced in touch with the leaders under Jack Mitchell. Switched left to challenge approaching the two furlong marker, he was ridden a furlong later and kept on well to lead close home. The winning margin was a length and a half, with another three lengths and three quarters back to the third horse.
Owned by Raed El Youssef, Daysofourlives was bought by Global Equine Group as a yearling for £110,000. The improving son of Churchill was bred by Mark and Stephanie Hanly out of Komedy, whose Saxon Warrior filly foal sold for €160,000 earlier this month.
