Progressive Sons Of Churchill Complete Doncaster Double
The well-regarded Dawn Of Liberation (3c Churchill - Danetime Out, by Danetime) completed the first leg of a double for Churchill and owner Mrs Susan Roy when getting off the mark in fine style at Doncaster on Sunday.
Runner-up in a pair of competitive maidens as a two-year-old, Richard Hannon’s 2,000 Guineas entry was sent off favourite on his three-year-old return. He made all under Sean Levey and was pushed along approaching two furlongs out. Running on well, he went clear inside the final furlong to score by three lengths.
Bred by BEC Bloodstock, Dawn Of Liberation was sold by Redpender Stud to Michael Roy as a yearling for 145,000gns.
Later on the card, Mrs Susan Roy’s homebred Grand Alliance (3c Churchill - Endless Love, by Dubai Destination) scored over ten furlongs to register his second consecutive success.
Chasing the leaders under Danny Tudhope, the Charlie Fellowes-trained bay was ridden to lead after the two furlong marker and kept on strongly to win by two and a quarter lengths.
