Progressive Starspangledbanner Colt Gains Second Success
Friday saw the consistent Heights Of Abraham (2c Starspangledbanner - High Vintage, by High Chaparral) gain his second juvenile success when scoring over a mile at Doncaster.
Successful on his second start in August, Keith Dalgleish’s charge since finished second in a competitive contest won by subsequent Group 3 second Recovery Run. The bay was sent off second favourite under Shane Gray, who rode him in a prominent position, pushing the bay along from two furlongs out and his mount ran on well to score by a length and a quarter.
There is plenty to look forward to with the winner, according to Shane Gray, who said, “Heights Of Abraham is a nice big, raw horse. The penny's probably only beginning to drop with him and his form at Ayr is working out really well. I think he'll be a nice three-year-old.”
A half-brother to Group performer Beautiful Vintage, Heights Of Abraham was bred by Ballyhampshire Stud.
