Progressive Starspangledbanner Filly Beats Competitive Field
Little Miss Dynamo (2f Starspangledbanner - Frankly So, by Frankel) made a fine impression when beating two previous winners in the Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Ripon on Monday.
The Tom Dascombe-trained bay was sent off favourite on last month’s debut, but showed signs of inexperience as she finished fifth. Stepping up to six furlongs on her second start, she led from halfway under Jane Elliott and kept on strongly to win by three parts of a length.
Owned by DR Passant, Little Miss Dynao was bred by Rosemont Stud out of a close relation to dual Stakes winners Curtain Call (Sadler’s Wells) and Launched (Galileo). She continues a terrific season for Starspangledbanner, who sired the first two juvenile Group winners of 2021.
