Promising Churchill Colt Gains Maiden Victory
Churchill’s first crop continue to deliver, with Pretexte (3c Churchill - Briseida, by Pivotal) becoming his latest winner in Friday’s mile maiden at Fontainebleau.
Never out of the first four on his previous starts, Pia and Joakim Brandt’s charge was partnered by Mickael Barzalona for the first time on Friday and prevailed by three parts of a length on the line.
Owned by Finn Blichfeldt, the €105,000 yearling was bred by Yeguada Centurion. The colt's win comes a day after Churchill sired a double in the UK, where Conservative and Ingra Tor got off the mark in competitive contests.
