Promising Churchill Juvenile Goes One Better
J’Adore Chris (2f Churchill – Snowfields, by Raven’s Pass) led home a 1-2 for Coolmore sires when gaining a deserved win in Tuesday’s maiden at Roscommon.
Paddy Twomey’s charge finished second over course and distance on debut, with the more experienced winner Green Triangle (Gleneagles) later gaining blacktype, and went on to fill the same position behind the well-regarded Lambourn (Australia) at Killarney.
She was sent off favourite to make it third time lucky under Billy Lee and after breaking from a wide draw, settled in second after two furlongs. She improved to lead after the two furlong pole and was ridden out to score by three parts of a length, as William F Browne (Arizona) claimed runners-up honours.
“We're delighted she won,” said Twomey. “We could look at a winners' race or may look at the Ingabelle on Champions Weekend. She is qualified for the Foran final as well.”
The daughter of Churchill is owned by Denise, Sarah and Aine Callanan of Nanallac Stud, who now also own her dam Snowfields. J’Adore Chris was bred by Lynch Bages, Camas Park Stud and Summerhill Bloodstock.
