Promising Son Of Churchill Gains Deserved Maiden Win

Winston’s Tipple (3g Churchill – Merry Me, by Invincible Spirit) produced a smart performance to get off the mark in Wednesday’s ten-furlong novice stakes Lingfield.

Andrew Balding’s charge had placed on all of his previous starts, including when second to subsequent Listed winner Ombudsman, and was partnered by Callum Hitchinson for the first time on Wednesday. The bay raced prominently until asserting before two furlongs out and kept on well to win by a neck.

The son of Churchill is owned and bred by Mrs Fitri Hay.
