Promising Ten Sovereigns Colt Wins Second Start At York
Fondo Blanco (2c Ten Sovereigns – Farzeen, Farhh) built on last month’s promising debut to justify favouritism in Friday’s six furlong novice stakes at York.
Roger Varian’s charge finished an eye-catching third in a Newbury maiden, but a previous winner was among his opposition on his second start. Racing prominently under Ray Dawson at York, he was ridden to lead inside the final furlong and kept on well to score by three parts of a length. The pair finished two lengths and three quarters clear of the aforementioned previous winner in third.
A 260,000gns yearling purchase, the second crop son of Ten Sovereigns is owned by King Power Racing and was bred by Meon Valley Stud.
