Requinto Juvenile Gains Second Success In Style

Mild Illusion (2f Requinto - Mirror Effect, by Shamardal) ran out an impressive winner at Salisbury on Friday to gain her second career success for Jonathan Portman and the Old Stoic Racing Club.

The consistent filly finished second on her first two starts, before taking a Windsor maiden and was last seen finishing third in a competitive Newmarket contest. Sent off favourite over six furlongs on Friday, she tracked the leaders under Hollie Doyle and was shaken up to lead entering the final furlong. Running on well, she won by three and a quarter lengths from the Stakes-placed Companion in second.

Mild Illusion was bred by Marston Stud out of an unraced half-sister to useful sprinter Courageous. The son of Requinto is bred on a similar cross to Group 2 July Stakes third Packing Stones and Listed-placed juvenile Usra. Requinto commands €4,000 at Castlehyde Stud.
