Rivals No Match For Son Of Zoffany
Damage Control (3g Zoffany - One So Marvellous, by Nashwan) appeared a class above his rivals when justifying favouritism in the ten furlong maiden at Chepstow on Tuesday.
Second to subsequent Listed winner King Carney (Australia) last season, the Andrew Balding-trained chesnut finished a close second on his three-year-old return earlier in June. Rob Horny rode him to make most of the running and despite stumbling in the straight, stayed on well to win by four lengths and three quarters.
Owned by Mick and Janice Mariscotti, Damage Control was bred by Meon Valley Stud. A 65,000gns yearling, the son of Zoffany is a half-brother to dual Listed winner Coquet, while their dam is a sister to Group 1 winner One So Wonderful.
