Rock Becomes A Diamond At Tattersalls
Blue Diamond Stud went to 400,000gns for a daughter of Fastnet Rock at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale on Friday. The April-born bay filly foal is a half-sister to G2 Gimcrack Stakes victor Ajaya and was consigned by Jamie Railton, as agent.
Blue Diamond Stud also bought the filly’s full-brother at the Book 1 yearling sale and being bred out of a Hennessy mare, they’re the product of the same cross that produced Australian Group 1 winner Irish Lights and Group 2 winner Fast ‘N’ Rocking.
Not satisfied with purchasing the above two, Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar’s Blue Diamond Stud also gave 110,000gns for a Fastnet Rock filly from New England Stud. The bay filly is out of Listed winner Soon, herself a daughter of Galileo, meaning her Fastnet Rock filly is bred on the same cross as seven individual Group 1 winners.
Fastnet Rock will command a fee of €70,000 in 2019.
