Skyward (Camelot) winning the Gr.3 Prix du Reux at Deauville

Skyward Completes Weekend Stakes Double For Camelot

Sunday saw the Fabrice Chappet-trained Skyward (4c Camelot - Shakeyourbody, by Giant’s Causeway) return to winning ways in the Group 3 Prix du Reux at Deauville.

Unraced at two, the son of Camelot won all his starts last season, including at Listed level. Reunited with Stephane Pasquier at the weekend, the bay chased the leaders for most over the mile and a half contest and was ridden approaching the two furlong marker. Improving to lead entering the final furlong, he kept on well to win by a length and a half.

Bred by Aleyrion Bloodstock, Skward is owned by Arno Curty and John Messara. One of three Stakes performers out of the Giant’s Causeway mare Shakeyourbody, he becomes Camelot’s second black-type winner of the weekend, following Current Option’s win in the Listed Platinum Stakes at Cork.
