Smart Newcomer Becomes Latest Winner By Starspangledbanner

Paddy’s Day (2c Starspangledbanner - Elusive Gold, by Elusive City) continued a fine run for Starspangledbanner when making a winning debut at Windsor on Monday evening.

The Charles Hills-trained newcomer was ridden to make all by Kieran Shoemark and was shaken up approaching the two furlong marker. Ridden approaching the final furlong, he kept on well to beat the favourite by a length and a half.

The son of Starspangledbanner was bred by Tom McDonald out of a half-sister to Group 1 performer Duntle, perhaps best known now as the dam of top-class miler Circus Maximus (Galileo).
