Smart No Nay Never Colt Never Headed
Never Just A Dream (2c No Nay Never - Poetic Imagination, by Exceed And Excel) went some way to justifying lofty entries when recording a smart maiden victory at Wolverhampton on Monday.
Entered in both the Gimcrack Stakes and Nunthorpe Stakes, Ismail Mohammed’s charge faced eight rivals for the competitive novice stakes over six furlongs. Ridden to lead by Kieran Shoemark, the chesnut was the last horse off the bridle when asked to quicken turning for home. Ridden out in the straight, it soon became apparent that he was not for catching and scored by a length and a half, with the front pair drawing five lengths clear of the third.
Owned by Saeed Al Tayer, Never Just A Dream becomes the first winner bred by Frank Antonacci and David Reid out of Poetic Imagination.
