Evade (Wootton Bassett) Wins On Debut at Deuville

Smart Wootton Bassett Colt Delivers On Debut

Evade (2c Wootton Bassett - Angel Falls, by Kingmambo) produced a smart debut performance to win Sunday’s six furlong maiden at Deauville.

The Andre Fabre-trained colt was sent off second favourite under Mickael Barzalona, who settled his mount in last and was the first to come under pressure. Quickening smartly from two furlongs out, he ran on strongly inside the final furlong to lead close home and scored by a short neck.

Owned by Qatar Racing, Evade was bought by David Redvers as a yearling for €300,000. The son of Wootton Bassett was bred by Ecurie des Monceaux, Ecurie Loick Fouchet, Ralphy Meahjohn and Kastro Stud Farm.
