Smooth Debut Success For Classy Churchill Filly
The well-bred Pink Satin (2f Churchill - Pink Symphony, by Montjeu) made a bright start to her career when taking the six furlong Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Windsor.
Richard Kingscote took the ride aboard Paul and Oliver Cole’s newcomer and positioned the bay in midfield in the early stages. Making headway from three furlongs out, she was ridden from the two furlong pole and led a furlong later. Keeping on well, she beat the favourite by a length and a half, with the same margin back to previous winner Lincoln Legacy (Footstepsinthesand) in third.
Pink Satin is owned by breeder Mrs Fitri Hay, who enjoyed Grade 1 success with the filly’s brother Highland Chief (Gleneagles). It has been a successful period of late for the family, with sibling Clan Chieftain (Gleneagles) winning a maiden on his seasonal return earlier this month.
