Son Of Churchill Draws Clear To Maiden Success
Cubana Habana (3g Churchill - Maelia, by Redoute’s Choice) continued a fine start to the season for Churchill when getting off the mark in Saturday’s extended mile maiden at Hamilton.
The Richard Fahey-trained bay was beaten just three parts of a length on debut last month and was reunited with Paul Hanagan at the weekend. Racing towards the back of the field, he made headway from over two furlongs out and was ridden to lead inside the final furlong. Drawing away, he was pushed out to beat the favourite by two and a half lengths, with another three and a quarter lengths back to the third.
Owned by Steve Bradley, Cubana Habana was bred by Ecurie Des Charmes.
