Son Of Fastnet Rock Shows His Class
Nagano (3g Fastnet Rock - Nazym, by Galileo) confirmed the taking nature of his maiden win when beating a competitive field at Newcastle on Tuesday.
Third in the Wood Ditton Stakes on debut, Roger Varian’s charge won smartly next time out and was sent off favourite to double up, despite carrying a penalty against five other winners. Racing prominently under David Egan, the bay produced a challenge two furlongs from home and ran on strongly to score by half a length, the field strung out behind the runner-up.
A step up in class may now be on the cards for Nurlan Bizakov’s homebred, who is one of many examples of the successful Fastnet Rock/Galileo cross.
