Son Of Galileo Battles For Deserved Stakes Success

Wednesday saw Pablo Escobarr (3c Galileo - Bewitched, by Dansili) gain a well-deserved black-type win when taking the Listed Wild Flower Stakes at Kempton.

The William Haggas-trained colt finished second at Listed level last time out following a break, having claimed runners-up honours behind Anthony Can Dyck (Galileo) in the Listed Derby Trial earlier in the season.

Returning to a mile and a half on his latest start, he chased the leaders under Tom Marquand, who switched him left and drove him to lead approaching the final furlong. He was forced to dig deep as the favourite Loxley produced a strong challenge inside the final furlong and battled back to prevail by a neck on the line, the pair finishing four lengths clear of the third horse.

Pablo Escobarr is owned by Hussain Alabbas Lootah and was bought as a yearling for €200,000 by Richard Knight. The son of Galileo was bred by R Scarborough and Carradale out of Group 3 winner Bewitched.
