Son Of Mastercraftsman Continues On The Improve
Paths Of Glory (4g Mastercraftsman - Pacific Rim, by Singspiel) continued on an upward curve when justifying favoritism in the mile and a half maiden at Ffos Las on Thursday.
Third on debut last month and a close second last time out, he faced eight rivals on his first start on firmer ground. Jack Mitchell rode the grey to track the leader for much of the way, asserting from the three furlong pole and was shaken up two furlongs out. Staying on well, he had a two length advantage inside the final furlong and though All Yours did his best to rein him in, he could only narrow the gap to a neck on the line, as they finished eight lengths clear of the third.
Jack Mitchell commented after the race, “The ground is a lot quicker than described. Paths Of Glory didn't really like it at all. He has done it well enough, considering these were not ideal conditions.”
Trained by Hugo Palmer for China Horse Club, Paths Of Glory was bred by Dayton Investments out of Group 2 winner Pacific Rim. She was sold in foal to Zoffany for €680,000 to Narvick International as part of the Wildenstein Dispersal at Goffs.
