Son Of Rock Of Gibraltar Makes Winning Debut
Ten Year Ticket (2g Rock Of Gibraltar - Bulrushes, by Byron) produced a smart performance when making a winning debut in Tuesday’s seven furlong maiden at the Curragh.
14 two-year-olds lined up for the competitive contest, with Kevin Manning riding the eventual winner to chase the leaders. Pushed along from two furlongs out, the chesnut stayed on well to lead inside the final furlong, denying the well-supported Lough Cutra by half a length on the line.
Speaking after the race, winning trainer Jim Bolger commented, “He toughed it out well. He has a great attitude.”
Bolger trains Ten Year Ticket for owner/breeder Nicholas Teehan of Bluegate Stud, who has bred three Stakes horses out of the dam Bulrushes. Herself unraced, she is a half-sister to dual Group winner Tariq.
