Son Of Starspangledbanner Delivers On Stable Debut
Bright (3g Starspangledbanner - Heavenly Song, by Oratorio) built on previous promise to make a winning start for new connections at Wolverhampton on Thursday.
The son of Starspangledbanner placed behind two useful types before joining the Mark Loughnane stable for owners Melissa Cooke and Harriet Sunderland. Well-supported on stable debut, he was partnered by Finley Marsh in the five furlong novice stakes and pressed the leader for much of the way. Leading a furlong from home, he kept on well to win by three parts of a length
“Bright is a lovely genuine horse,” the winning rider said after the race. “This was his first run for Mark Loughnane and they thought he might want six furlongs, but he wouldn't be screaming for them to step him up. He's very quick.”
Bred by Rabbah Bloodstock, the son of Starspangledbanner is a half-brother to Group performer Sinjaari (Camelot).
