Son Of Ten Sovereigns Makes All To Maiden Win
Sovereign Knight (3g Ten Sovereigns – Whatbird, by Gleneagles) built on promising placed efforts to get off the mark in Sunday’s novice stakes at Lingfield.
The Amy Murphy-trained bay finished an eye-catching fourth on debut and progressed to take third next time out, going on to finish second on his third start. Dropping down to six furlongs on Sunday, he was ridden to make all by Kieran Shoemark and began to quicken approaching the two furlong marker. Ridden a furlong from home, he kept on well to deny the favourite by a neck, while Gowareagle (Gleneagles) made a promising debut in third.
Bred by Haras Haras de Hus, the progressive three-year-old is owned by Daniel Macauliffe and Anoj Don. He hails from the first crop of Ten Sovereigns, which includes 11 Stakes performers.
