Monday saw Nibras Rainbow (2g U S Navy Flag - Show Rainbow, by Haafhd) record his second career success when justifying favouritism at Newcastle.

Trained by Ismail Mohammed for Saeed Al Tayer, the son of U S Navy Flag made a successful step up to seven furlongs last month and tackled the same trip on Monday. Racing towards the back of the field under Cameron Noble, the bay was ridden to make headway over two furlongs from home and ran on to lead a furlong later. Keeping on well, he scored by a length and a quarter.

Bred by Diomed Bloodstock, Nibras Rainbow continues a fine start at stud for champion two-year-old U S Navy Flag. His son U S S Constitution is set for a step up to Stakes company after getting off the mark at Ascot, while impressive debutante and Queen Mary Stakes fourth Love Reigns captured a Listed contest last month. She became her sire’s second black-type winner, following Ocean Vision’s Stakes success at Deauville.
