Son Of Zoffany Makes It Two From Two
Drummond Warrior (3g Zoffany - Ulanova, by Noverre) defied a penalty for his winning debut when running out an impressive winner of the six furlong Novice Stakes at Windsor on Sunday.
The course and distance winner made all of the running under Shane Kelly and was asked to quicken approaching the final furlong. The Pam Sly-trained bay showed signs of greenness but drew clear all the same, crossing the line four and a half lengths clear of Grisons, who beat the even-money favourite Mofaaji into third.
Owned by GA Libson and Pam Sly, Drummond Warrior was a €55,000 foal purchase by Church Farm. He was bred by Ronan Fitzpatrick out of an unraced half-sister to multiple Stakes winner Cheyenne Star.
