South African Stakes-Winner for Galileo
Australian bred Rain mare Gal (6m Galileo x Raining, by Hurricane Sky) posted her first Black Type success when saluting in the Group III Final Fling Stakes at Turffontein in South Africa on Saturday.
A six year-old daughter of Galileo, the Justin Snaith trained Rain Gal took the 1800 metre event by half a length, her overall record now five wins from 21 starts.
A $90,000 MM National purchase from the Coolmore draft for James Bester Bloodstock, Rain Gal runs for Hassen Adams and is a half-sister to stakes-placed Arjuna from Hurricane Sky mare Raining, a grand-daughter of stakes-winner Jade Lace.
Rain Gal is from the last crop of Australian bred foals by champion sire Galileo and is his 139th stakes-winner worldwide.
