Stakes Race Next For Speedy No Nay Never Filly

Matter Of Fact (2f No Nay Never - Malicieuse, by Galileo) shaped like a smart prospect on Sunday when flying home to win the six furlong Fillies’ Maiden at Naas.

Trained by Jessica Harrington for owner/breeders the Niarchos Family, the bay was partnered by Nathan Crosse on her second start. Racing towards the back of the field in the early stages, she was switched out to challenge three furlongs from home, but it was only two furlongs later that the penny seemed to drop. She produced an impressive turn of foot to sweep past her rivals and led by three parts of a length on the line.

Speaking after the race, the winning trainer said, “Nathan said it wasn't until he pulled her out that she flew up the hill. She was very green and will have learned a lot. I'd hope we'd be going for a Stakes race next.”
