Stakes Success For Progressive Zoffany Filly
Encapsulation (3f Zoffany - Supercharged, by Iffraaj) maintained an upward curve when gaining her maiden black-type success in Thursday’s Listed Doonside Cup Stakes at Ayr.
An impressive maiden winner for Noel Meade in April, she followed up with a fine second in a Listed contest and was subsequently purchased privately for Barbara Keller. The DJ Maher-bred bay claimed runners-up honours in a similar contest on her first start for Andrew Balding in July and returned to ten furlongs on Thursday.
Ben Curtis rode her in a prominent position, improving to lead approaching the final furlong and was ridden out to hold off favourite What’s The Story by a length.
Encapsulation is the best performer out of her dam, a half-sister to the useful Al Galayel (Zoffany), and comes from the family of Designs On Rome (Holy Roman Emperor). An Ivawood half-sister to Encapsulation is catalogued to sell at next week’s Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale.
