Starspangledbanner Colt Delivers On Second Start
Baltimore Boy (3c Starspangledbanner - Biaraafa, by Araafa) built on a promising debut to take Friday’s seven furlong Novice Stakes at Newcastle.
Michael Bell’s charge made late headway to finish third over the same trip at Kempton and was ridden more prominently by Tom Marquand at Newcastle. Ridden to lead approaching the final furlong, he kept on well to deny the favourite by a neck on the line, with the pair drawing two lengths clear of the third.
Owned by the Hawtin Family and Mrs I Corbani, Baltimore Boy was bred by Rathbody Stud and B Jones, who sold the son of Starspangledbanner as a foal for €90,000.
