A son of Starspangledbanner topped the final day of the Tattersalls Book 2 Sale when selling to Anthony Stroud for 360,000gns.
Offered by Ballyhimikin Stud, the half-brother to Stakes performer Kodiak West (Lot 1323) drew the attentions of many, though the final bids were left to Kia Joorabchian and Stroud, with the latter prevailing on behalf of Godolphin. After signing the docket, the agent commented, “I thought he was an outstanding individual and looks like a very fast horse. Starspangledbanner has done very well and he comes from a very good farm.”

11 yearlings by Starspangledbanner sold for an average of 90,182gns at Book 2, with the son of Choisir’s other six-figure sale coming courtesy of Kenilworth House Stud’s colt (Lot 872) out of Intermittent. Gainsborough Thoroughbreds went to 140,000gns for the bay, who returned a handsome profit on his foal price of €66,000.
