Starspangledbanner Filly Brings £350,000 at Goffs UK

Starspangledbanner’s sole offering at the Goffs UK Breeze-Up Sale proved a highlight, when selling to Stroud Coleman for £350,000.

The quality filly was knocked down to agent Anthony Stroud, who commented, “She breezed well but she’s not an immediate type of two-year-old, I think she’ll be better over seven furlongs. She comes from Brendan Holland, who does a terrific job. I think she’s a horse with a future.”

The daughter of Starspangledbanner was offered by Grove Stud, whose Brendan Holland also held the title of proud breeder. “I loved her all the way through,” the leading consignor said. “She’s got lovely balance and movement, and I wanted to bring something nice here. In hindsight the breeze came too early for her but she still produced on the day because she’s got loads of quality.”
