Starspangledbanner Filly Gets Off The Mark In Fine Style
A change of tactics saw American Belle (3f Starspangledbanner - Syndicate, by Dansili) gain a deserved win in Thursday’s seven furlong Novice Stakes at Chelmsford.
Placed on all but one of her juvenile stars, the James Fanshawe-trained bay was narrowly denied on her three-year-old return last month and was sent off favourite to get off the mark on Thursday. Robert Havlin rode the bay to make all and boasted a clear advantage approaching the final furlong, from which his mount kept on well to score by two lengths.
American Belle is owned by Fred Archer Racing and is the first foal bred by James Hanly out of the mare Syndicate.
