Starspangledbanner Juvenile Builds On Promising Debut

Rainyniteingeorgia (2f Starspangledbanner- Shalailah, by Showcasing) made all to lead home a 1-2 for Coolmore sires in the five furlong Novice Stakes at Lingfield on Wednesday.

Trained by William Jarvis for Mrs Paul Shanahan, the daughter of Starspangledbanner finished a promising second on debut, but became unbalanced next time out when finishing fourth. Partnered by Jamie Spencer on Wednesday, she was travelling best of the field when racing clear approaching the final furlong. Ridden close home, she kept on to deny debut winner Master Of My Fate (Footstepsinthesand) by a neck on the line.

Rainyniteingeorgia becomes the first winner bred by Rathbran House Stud out of Shalailah.
