Tango Becomes The Latest Stakes Winner By No Nay Never

Stateside Plan For No Nay Never’s Latest Stakes Winner

Tango (2f No Nay Never - Idle Chatter, by Galileo) joined an ever-growing list of Stakes horses by No Nay Never when taking Sunday’s Listed Legacy Stakes at the Curragh.

A maiden winner in June, the Aidan O’Brien-trained filly was last seen finishing second to Millisle (Starspangledbanner) in the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes. As a result, she was sent off favourite under Donnacha O’Brien, who rode her to chase the leaders for much of the six furlong contest. They bay made headway to lead approaching the final furlong and soon raced clear, winning by six and a half lengths on the line.

Speaking after the race, the winning trainer commented, “She is a smart filly and Donnacha said he was very impressed by her. She was always comfortable and she could go to the Breeders Cup now.”

The Fastnet Stud-bred filly was bought as a yearling for 200,000gns by Charlie Gordon-Watson and MV Magnier on behalf of Coolmore partners. She becomes the 11th individual Listed winner by No Nay Never, who has another eight Group winners to his name.
