The highly-rated Seattle Rock (3f Fastnet Rock - Snoqualmie Girl, by Montjeu) gained a deserved maiden victory when landing the Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Newbury on Thursday.
The Sylvester Kirk-trained bay finished third against the colts in the Chesham Stakes on her second start and went fill the same position in two Group 3 contests. Racing over a mile on her latest start, Jeff Smith’s homebred was shaken up to lead from two furlongs out and ran on well under Ryan Moore to win by two lengths.
The daughter of Fastnet Rock is the sole black-type performer out of dual Listed winner Snoqualmie Girl (Montjeu).
